Tandem provides perinatal and reproductive medical care and supportive services to Monroe, Brown, Owen, Greene, Lawrence, Morgan and Jackson counties in Indiana, with our main facility located in Bloomington, Indiana.

We are seeking:
Postpartum Doulas
This is a part-time position for postpartum doulas. Our team offers daytime and overnight in-home postpartum support to families in the community, and will provide in-house support in Tandem’s Postpartum Suites in the future.
Midwives (CNM)
Certified Nurse-Midwife
Our future team will include 2-3 CNMs as well as nurses (RN, LPN or EMT) serving as birth assistants. Clinic visits will be one hour in length, and we plan to average 4-7 births per month total. Midwives will also travel to patient homes for postpartum visits at 24-48 hours and 3 days.
Births requiring a higher level of care will be transferred to our local hospital which is just a few minutes away from Tandem.
This position will start with 20 hrs/week of clinic hours and expand to include 4-7 births/month shared across the midwives. We currently have one CNM on staff.
Perinatal Educators
Social Workers
Birth Assistants (RN, LPN or EMT)
Part-Time Perinatal Educators will continue Tandem’s mission of providing comprehensive, inclusive and neutral perinatal education in at least one area of specialization: Childbirth, Postpartum, Lactation, Perinatal Nutrition, Perinatal Exercise/Fitness.
We envision pregnancy care including midwifery care and mental health workers for everybody.
Birth Assistants will directly assist the CNM in caring for the family during labor and early postpartum, act as the "second pair of hands" during births and/or emergencies, and directly assist the family immediately following birth and during the postpartum period. Births may occur as home births or in Tandem’s birth center once licensure is complete.
