Internship Program
Each semester, Tandem hosts interns from a multitude of majors and degree programs, both undergraduate and graduate, for internships in which they can grown their skills while serving the community.
We look for interns who are self-starters, passionate about reproductive and perinatal health, and want to make a difference.

Hannah Gaby
Hannah is a Junior at IU majoring in Sociology, with a minor in Spanish. She is also apart of the Liberal Arts and Management Program at IU! Hannah loves reading and hanging out with her family and friends, and squirrels are her favorite animal! After she graduates she would like to get into healthcare administration to work with people and help manage corporations to ensure healthcare equality. Hannah is so excited to work for Tandem and to experience working with people in the community!
Addison Joyce
Addison Joyce is a junior at Indiana University majoring in Biology and Animal Behavior on the pre-medical track with a minor in maternal & child health. She is passionate about the intersection of human, animal, and environmental health and is especially interested in women’s health and public health. Addison conducts research focused on environmental health and hormone responses and volunteers in wildlife rehabilitation settings. She is excited to help improve access to compassionate, patient-centered healthcare and to support women throughout their healthcare journeys. In her free time, Addison enjoys running, pickleball, and spending time outdoors.
Arianna Chavis
Arianna Chavis is a recent graduate of Purdue University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Anthropology. She is now pursuing her Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Family and Community Health. During her undergraduate experience, she took part in women’s health research and internship initiatives, such as interning at Project Swaddle in Crawfordsville, IN, which delivered in-home care to women and children within the community. After obtaining her master’s, she hopes to continue working in women’s health in a healthcare setting and is exploring becoming a nurse navigator. She enjoys hiking, eating with friends, drawing, and doing yoga in her free time. She is looking forward to meeting the team and continuing to make strides in women’s health advocacy.

Faith Pierson
Faith Pierson is a junior at Indiana University studying Community Health. She plans to return to school after graduation to obtain her BSN and become a NICU nurse in Chicago, Illinois. In her free time, she likes to garden, go hiking, watch movies, and spend time with her friends and family. Faith is so excited to work with Tandem throughout the rest of her time at IU and gain further experience in the realm of women and childrens’ health.
Josephine LaMere
Josephine LaMere is going to be a senior at IU majoring in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology. After graduation she hopes to continue working in the postpartum world and become a lactation consultant. In her free time she can be seen baking or going on long walks with her friends and family. Josephine comes from a very large family and this is where she found her passion for working with infants and their mothers. She looks forward to her time working at Tandem and furthering her experience in women’s health and
children.
Emma Shriberg
Emma recently graduated Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs and minors in History and Jewish Studies. Emma enjoys reading books, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. She loves working with kids and families to brighten their lives. Emma is excited to support Bloomington families and gain hands-on experience with a community-based nonprofit.
2025 Interns
Emma Domke
Emma Domke is currently a senior at Indiana University majoring in Human Biology and Neuroscience and minoring in Spanish. She is on the pre-medical track and is interested in obstetrics and gynecology as well as emergency medicine. Emma is also interested in global medicine and conducted research about prenatal healthcare in Ghana over the summer. Through her studying abroad and research experience, she is excited to learn more about increasing women’s access to healthcare through organizations like Tandem! In her spare time, Emma enjoys going on walks and cooking!
Kinzie Gamaleldin
Anna Kaippallimalil
Anna Kaippallimalil is a sophomore at IU Bloomington majoring in Human Biology and Anthropology. She has aspirations of attending medical school for pathology or pediatrics in the future! On campus, she is involved with Ascend (business non-profit), and Western Equestrian (Horse Riding!), and Phi Delta Epsilon (the campus medical fraternity). She loves learning about ancient history, archaeology, and paleontology and will gladly talk about said topics for ages. Anna is excited to be part of Tandem, as she is passionate about maternal and women’s health!
Laney Martlage
Laney is a senior studying Human Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Indiana University with plans to attend medical school and pursue a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology after graduating. Her interest in maternal and fetal healthcare began with concern for the high rates of healthcare disparities in OBGYN, and grew into a passion for all things pregnancy. They believe that reproductive health deserves a space without shame or judgment, and love that Tandem creates exactly that for the local community. When Laney isn’t studying, they enjoy a good book, driving with windows down and music up, working out, trying new things, and volunteering both locally and nationally.
Jackson Shanks
Jackson Shanks is a sophomore at IU Bloomington majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics. After college he hopes to work in Wealth Management. In his free time, he loves to play sports, watch movies, and hang out with friends. He is looking forward to helping out in the community, and his involvement at Tandem as a Finance/Accounting Intern.
