Whether you arrive by foot, car or bus, we want you to be able to get here! We have bus passes available at Tandem for clients to get back home. Our lower floor houses our Midwifery Clinic and future Birth Center. The upper floor is known as the Postpartum House and includes our community space, free resources, and more.
Entrance May Vary During Construction
Most days, you will enter Tandem’s front door (it faces 3rd Street). However, if constructions prevents front door access, please enter via the back door (accessed via wooden ramp from rear parking lot).

Bus Routes
From Bloomington Transit Center
- About 6 min (9 stops)
- Walk- Head east on E 3rd toward Hillsdale Dr.
- At Hillsdale/Woodcrest light, cross the street so you continue East on the north side of the 3rd street (there is no light to cross to the left side of the street when you get to Tandem, so this will be safer)
- Tandem will be on your left
Tandem has a limestone front and yellow siding. If the front entrance is closed (entrance may vary during construction), enter through the wooden ramp at the rear of the building.
From Indiana Memorial Union
- 10th and Eagleson at the Wells Library
- 8 min (3 stops)
- Tandem is directly across from Designer Shoe Warehouse (across the parking lot, then across E 3rd St, opposite the drive that exits the parking lot between German American Bank and Chase Bank)
- There is no light in front of Tandem on East 3rd, so we recommend walking to the intersection of E 3rd and S college Mall Rd and crossing from the Circle K side, to the Red Lobster side.
