Chloe Steinke is a senior at IU studying Community Health and minoring in Human Development and Family studies. She is currently on the pre-medical track and is interested in pediatrics and gynecology. She is looking forward for this opportunity and is hoping to be part of a big support system to all. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, working out, and cooking!
Internship Program
Each semester, Tandem hosts interns from a multitude of majors and degree programs, both undergraduate and graduate, for internships in which they can grown their skills while serving the community.
We look for interns who are self-starters, passionate about reproductive and perinatal health, and want to make a difference.

Azhia Strong
Azhia Strong is a senior at Indiana University Bloomington pursuing a major in Community Health and a minor in Psychology. She’s excited to join Tandem’s organization, which is committed to supporting individuals and families in need. With a strong passion for women’s and children’s health, she deeply resonates with Tandem’s mission of empowering child-bearing families through accessible options and care. She’s eager to contribute while learning and growing through hands-on experience. In her free time, she likes exploring different types of music, spending time with her cat, experimenting with new foods, and relaxing with a good book.

Emma Domke
Emma Domke is currently a Junior at Indiana University majoring in Human Biology and Neuroscience and minoring in Spanish. She is on the pre-medical track and is interested in obstetrics and gynecology as well as emergency medicine. Emma is also interested in global medicine and conducted research about prenatal healthcare in Ghana over the summer. Through her studying abroad and research experience, she is excited to learn more about increasing women’s access to healthcare through organizations like Tandem! In her spare time, Emma enjoys going on walks and cooking!

Madi Haines
Madi Haines is currently a senior at Indiana University studying Youth Development with minors in Human Development and Family Studies and Spanish. Madi will be continuing her education by obtaining a master’s in social work with a healthcare focus, post graduation. She enjoys serving youth and families in underserved communities. She is very excited to work with Tandem this semester and see the great impact they have on the community. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and going on walks!

Camila Cantu
Camila Cantu is a junior at IU currently studying Human Biology and Community Health with a minor in Spanish. She is currently on the pre-medical track and is currently interested in gynecology and pediatrics with a hope to serve underserved communities and Hispanic populations. She is very excited to work with Tandem as they continue to expand their resources across the Bloomington community. In her free time, Camila likes to do hot yoga, cook, and travel abroad!

Isabell Deem
Isabell is a recent graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington, earning her BA in the Individualized Major Program with her major titled “Health, Healing, & Society: Ancient Mediterranean to the Present” and a minor in Religious Studies. She’s been an intern at Tandem since 2022, and one of her favorite parts is seeing all the different ways to make an impact, both big and small! You can find her working as an EMT-B on the ambulance or as a Simulation Technician at the IU Health Sciences Building Simulation Center. Isabell aspires to become an emergency medicine physician and continue her love for advocacy, education, and the humanities. A fun fact about her is that she has a pet tortoise named Pearl!

Cassidy Witt
Cassidy is currently a senior at Indiana University studying Community Health. She will be attending an accelerated nursing program to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Marian University in August. She currently works in the Emergency Department at IU Health in Bloomington. In her free time she enjoys going to the gym and being outdoors hunting and fishing with her fiancé and spending time with their two dogs Hoosier and Brody! She is excited to learn more about the community and what Tandem does to help those in need!

Julia Aquinilo
Julia Aquinilo is a senior at IU studying human biology. Through a pregnancy and prenatal class her junior year she became interested in perinatal health and ultimately found Tandem. In the future, she hopes to become a midwife and continue to advocate and provide care for women. In her free time she enjoys running, baking, and traveling!

Aiyanna Witham
Aiyanna is a junior studying Human Development and Family Studies on a Pre-PA track. Once out in the field, she hopes to work in rural areas throughout the country to bring OB/GYN care and sexual health education to underserved communities. In her free time she enjoys working out, hiking, being a plant mom, and spoiling her cat, Bozo

Laney Martlage
Laney is a Junior studying Human Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Indiana University with plans to attend medical school and pursue a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology after graduating. Her interest in maternal and fetal healthcare began with concern for the high rates of healthcare disparities in OBGYN, and grew into a passion for all things pregnancy. They believe that reproductive health deserves a space without shame or judgment, and love that Tandem creates exactly that for the local community. When Laney isn’t studying, they enjoy a good book, driving with windows down and music up, working out, trying new things, and volunteering both locally and nationally.
